About Parkdale CI

In the heart of Toronto’s Parkdale neighbourhood

Parkdale CI has earned a reputation for being a hidden gem within the TDSB. Our school is large enough to host a wide range of programs, small enough so we all know one another, and located within a diverse and vibrant community.

Parkdale CI is one of the oldest secondary schools in Toronto. Founded in 1888, it has been in its current location since 1929. Recent updates to our facilities, combined with a newly completed grounds renewal project, has established our school as a hub of the community.

Our semestered school had approximately 600 students in the 2021-22 school year and offers a vast array of programs. Parkdale CI is one of five certified International Baccalaureate (IB) World Schools in the TDSB, with approximately one half of our student body enrolled in the IB stream. Our school also offers two Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) programs. These include Horticulture and Landscaping, and introduced in 2019-20, Health and Wellness. Our Special Education Department offers a fully integrated Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) program and a general Special Education program.
